چکیده مقاله:
The indirect effect of thiamethoxam on the predation rate of Orius albidipennis was investigated by feeding the aphid (Aphis gossypii) treated via the systemic method. First instar aphid nymphs (< 24 hours old) were released on cucumber pots that were irrigated 12 hours earlier with equal concentrations (100 μg AI/L), half and a quarter of the recommended concentration of thiamethoxam and 0.05% mixture of water and tween 80 (control). On the first day of the experiment, 30 surviving treated aphids were placed on a leaf disk prepared from treated cucumber plants fixed in agar at the bottom of a petri dish and provided to a 1st instar nymph of predator (< 24 hours old). In the following days, the predator was transferred to insecticide-free conditions. Then, the adults were paired and fed with 70 aphids daily until death. Data on the biological stage, survival and number of eaten aphids were recorded for each replication. The experiment had 100 repetitions and was performed under conditions of 25±2 ̊C, 65±5% RH, and 16L:8D photoperiod. According to the results, none of the thiamethoxam concentrations made a significant difference in the transformation rate (Qp), finite consumption rate (ω) and stable predation rate (ψ) compared to the control. Only the net predation rate (C0) in the recommended concentration was reduced by 20.11% compared to the control treatment. Therefore, thiamethoxam is safe for predatory bugs in the soil-application method, and after more extensive experiments, it can be hoped for use in IPM programs for A. gossypii.
