چکیده مقاله:
Powdery mildew, Sphaerotheca fuliginea, is a major production problem in cucurbit crops in all parts of the world. The purpose of current study was to evaluate the comparison of biopesticide (aerated compost tea) and a chemical pesticide (Topas®). The field experiment was carried out in a commercial cucumber greenhouse in Pishva, Iran. Plants were grown under temperature of 27 ± 2°C with 60 ± 10% RH, and a photoperiod of 14:10 h L:D. Before experiments began, the number of healthy leaves was counted. The experiment was done in three replications. Full factorial design was carried out in order to identify optimum parameter levels of application condition for powdery mildew in cucumber commercial greenhouses. The independent variables which were investigated were: the fungicide type and dosage including Aerated compost tea (dose 8:1 and 16:1), Topas® (dose 0.5 and 1L/h) and Control; and time (once in every 7 and 14 days). The experiment contained 36 experimental units. After foliar applications of compost tea and Topas®, the control percentage was estimated based on the number of infected leaves with powdery mildew. The obtained results indicated that there was not significant difference between Topas® and compost tea (Lack of fit=0.047, R2=0.94; adj R2= 0.92; Pred. R2= 0.88). Also the dosage of each fungicide didn't have significant differences. Moreover, time of the replication didn't have significant difference in using Topas®. Considering the results, using aerated compost tea significantly decreases fungicide application and provides the basis for the implement of an IPM program.
