چکیده مقاله: |
Pseudomonas aeruginosa was isolated from Helicoverpa armigera (Şanlıurfa) and Pieris rapea (Erzurum) agricultural pests collected from two different cities in Turkey and confirmed by Sanger sequencing. P. aeruginosa are gram-negative bacteria usually found in soil and water. This bacterium produces four types of toxins, including ExoU (also called PepA), ExoS, ExoT and ExoY. It transmits these toxin genes to the host cell through the Type 3 secretion system (T3SS). The infection activity of this bacterium on these two pests was investigated and phylogenetic comparisons of P. aeruginosa bacteria isolated from the pests were made. As a result of phylogenetic comparisons, P. aeroginasa bacteria isolated from the pests matched with P. aeruginosa bacteria found in contaminated water beds and soil. Their green-blue pigment and pathogenic effects on pests in microbial experiments gave similar results. The reason for this is thought to be the toxin genes carried by P. aeroginasa bacteria and the potential of this bacterium to be used in the biological control of Helicoverpa armigera and Pieris rapea pests was investigated. Many different methods are used in the biological control of agricultural pests. It is thought that P. aeroginasa bacteria can be used as a biological control method for these two pests due to molecular identification and phylogenetic comparison. |
