چکیده مقاله:
Endophytic fungi live inside the tissue of the host plants and affect its resistance to environmental stresses, pathogens and pests. Therefore, they can be introduced as biological control agents. Fusarium wilt disease is one of the most destructive diseases in cucumber production and biological control is a major alternative method for protection of cucumber against fusarium wilt. In this research, four strains of endophytic fungi including, Curvularia spicifera M24, Microdochium bolleyi M25, Ophiosphaerella herpotricha M34, and Fomes fomentarius M40 from the collection of fungi of the biological control laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture of Kurdistan University were selected and their antifungal activity against causal agent of disease investigated in laboratory conditions using dual culture and volatile compounds (VOCs) tests. The dual culture test represented that the endophytic fungal strains decreased the mycelial growth of pathogen and inhibition percentage was assayed in M24 (56.23%), in M25 (53.14%), in M34 (50%) and in M40 (46.89%) and the highest inhibitory percentage was investigated in M24 strain. As well as, the volatile compounds (VOCs) reduced mycelial growth of pathogenic fungi which inhibition percentage was investigated in M24 (33.38%), in M25 (27.76%), in M34 (18.27%) and in M40 (19.82%) and the greatest impact was evaluated by strain M24. The results of this research showed that the endophytic fungus Curvularia spicifera M24 has a suitable inhibitory effect on the growth of fusarium wilt on cucumber in laboratory conditions.
