چکیده مقاله:
Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) are considered important soilborne pathogens that can cause significant economic damage due to their wide range of hosts. Chemical nematicides for control of the nematodes leads to environmental pollution and are a serious threat to human health. Therefore, finding low-risk methods to manage root-knot nematodes is a priority. Soil and bio solarization, Crop rotation, soil amendments with using organic fertilizers such as cow, poultry manure, agricultural fermentation waste and cover crops, antagonistic plants have been shown convinced results. Although the biological control based on bacteria and fungi microorganisms have been considered as one of the most successful methods. Multiple studies have shown that extracts of various plants, from shrub to trees, have the potential to inhibit plant parasitic nematodes, and in some cases their compounds and metabolites have been used in green biosynthesis of nanoparticles. Nowadays, the use of innovative methods involving various combinations of nanoparticles alone or in combination with plant extracts, encapsulation of probiotic agents and application of nanocomposites, especially chitosan and silica can be a promising strategy for sustainable management of this harmful pest in agriculture.
