چکیده مقاله:
Common Beans (Phasolus vulgaris L.) the highest cultivated area among the other legumes in Iran, are vulnerable to several soil-born fungi that attack them at different growth stage, causing root rot, collar rot, and wilt disease. Rhizoctonia solani is one of the most significant, causing damping-off and root-rot disease that decrease the quality and quantity of crop yield, thereby reducing productivity (Zitnick-Anderson et al., 2020). In this work, 6 bacteria isolated from the bean rhizosphere of different region in Iran, were evaluated for their abilities to control of R.solani and to improve seed germination using plate assays. The bean seeds (variety: Goli) were primed in Tryptic Soy Broth (TSB) medium for 60 minutes at 30°C with a bacterial population of 10^8, in sterilized perlite-containing test tubes. A mycelial disc of the fungus Rhizoctonia solani was placed in contact with the seeds and incubated at 28°C.The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design with 5 replications. The results indicated that in the presence of the fungus, isolate No. 7 ( an unknown G- bacteria that it's identification is in progress) exhibited the highest fresh weight, dry weight, stem length, and infected area length. However, in the absence of the fungus, isolate 2( an unknown G+ bacteria that it's identification is in progress) exhibited the highest fresh weight, dry weight, stem length, and root length, with statistical significance at a 1% level.
