چکیده مقاله:
In the three recent years, Leucoma wiltshirei Collenette (Lep.: Erebidae) has been attracted considerable attention for damaging oak trees, Quercus brantii Lindl, in some provinces of Iran as well as Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad. As a monophagous pest, different larval stages of L. wiltshirei feeds only on the leaves of oak tree. With a considerable potential in host defoliation, the damage of this insect pest weakens the oak trees and increases their vulnerability to both biotic and abiotic stress. Our researches conducted in the forest area of Basht county at Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province from February to December 2023 revealed a miscellaneous fauna of natural enemies for different life stages of this destructive pest. Accordingly, the parasitoid wasp Ooencyrtus ocneriae Hayat & Mehrnejad (Hym.: Encyrtidac) was identified as egg parasitoid. The entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill. (Hyp.: Clavicipitaceae) was extracted from infected larva and pupa of L. wiltshirei. As the first report for science community, the braconid wasp Dolichogenidea persica Abdoli (Hym.: Braconidae) was collected as larval parasitoid. The predatory activity of Vespa orientalis L. (Hym.: Vespidae) adult was also observed on the late larval stages. The pupal stage was also attacked by different endoparasitoids (i.e., Brachymeria tibialis (Walker) (Hym.: Chalcididae), Exorista longicercus Kugler (Dip.: Tachinidae), and Compsilura concinnata (Meigen) (Dip.: Tachinidae)), and one ectoparasitoid (i.e., Dibrachys microgastri (Bouche) (Hym.: Pteromalidae)). We also detected predatory activities of some general natural enemies on different life stages of L. wiltshirei (i.e., Araneae, Heteroptera, Mantodea, Neuroptera, and etc.).
