چکیده مقاله:
The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella L. (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), is the most important pest of Brassica worldwide. In this study, the effect of silicone compounds (Binder) and their combination with the bio-inhibition fungus Beauveria bassiana (BB) were evaluated on mortality of P. xylostella larvae and injury levels on cabbage. The P. xylostella colony was reared on Brassica oleracea leaves. The concentrations of 10 and 0.5 ml in BB and Bi were sprayed to the larvae of P. xylostella on B. oleracea leaves under laboratory conditions. Treated pots were kept at 25±1 ̊ C, 60±10% humidity, and a photoperiod of 16L:8D h. The mortality and larval injury were daily investigated for 5 days after treatment. The injury and mortality data were analyzed using SPSS 26 statistical program. The mean percentage of mortality for Bi, BB + Bi, and control treatments were recorded as 68±12.4, 68±12.4, and 0, respectively. The mean comparison of treatments has shown that the highest and lowest injury levels were obtained with control and Bi, BB + Bi, respectively (p<0.05). Generally, the results of this study showed that combined applications of Beauveria bio-compounds and silicon compounds can be considered as a safe control method in an integrated pest management framework of P. xylostella.
